“ANNUAL PICK-A-DILLY
HERB FAIRE”
The Dillweed Bed &
Breakfast in Dilltown is pleased to announce its’ 15th Annual
Pick-A-Dilly Herb Faire, scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, from 9am to
4pm. Admission is free and open to the public. The festival is
co-sponsored by The Herb Study Group of Indiana County.
The herb faire has grown in interest over the past years, attracting
many visitors to the quiet village of Dilltown. The event is a great way
to spend the day visiting area growers that feature a large variety of
flowering plants, HERBS and perennials - all in one location!
New to the festival this year will be food vendors selling breakfast and
luncheon sandwiches, delicious pesto pizza, and kettle corn. Dillweed
will also welcome new artisans featuring original photography, local
fresh raw honey, handmade beeswax products, hand carved wood items for
the home, all natural gourmet herb vinegars, spice blends & dipping
oils, lavender sugar, and herb bean soups. Returning artisans include
original botanical artwork, herb teas, hand poured soap products, copper
items, jewelry, and other garden inspired specialties.
Visitors to the event will gain valuable gardening information, growing
tips and learn how to care for and cultivate their own herbal gardens.
Explore the history and many uses of this year’s featured herb,
Elderberry. A booklet of elderberry recipes including jelly, muffins,
thumbprint cookies, and cobbler compiled by the Herb Study Group will be
available for sale. Visit the “Ask the Gardening Expert” table with your
herb and general gardening questions anytime throughout the duration of
the Herb Faire! The Herb Study Group will be presenting three free
seminars during the event - just look for the colorful balloons to
indicate the location:

“20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION”
Dillweed Bed & Breakfast turns 20 this year! Come out and celebrate with
us! A Meet the Artist Event is currently underway with Nationally
Acclaimed Folk Artist, Billy Jacobs!
Long
time Ohio resident Billy Jacobs is a self-trained folk artist whose
career has spanned nearly 30 years. Billy’s work originated in woodcraft
and small decorative folk art and has evolved over the years to include
his now famous collection of primitive American landscapes. First
published in 2007, Billy’s collection of primitive American landscapes
have made him one of the country’s most recognized folk artists! Each of
Billy’s prints portray a sense of tranquility and peacefulness that
reflect the authentic nature of the scenes that have inspired Billy’s
creations. Most of the landscapes featured by Billy are of actual places
throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Billy Jacobs, who some call “America’s Artist”, is coming to Dilltown to
help us celebrate our 20th Anniversary! Billy’s paintings capture
nostalgic Americana. Join us for a “meet and greet” with the artist in
Dillweed’s Gift Shop! For more information on Billy, please visit
